Today I took a walk with sister-friend and fellow poet Kay Middleton. We walked further together than I would have walked alone, and I’m grateful for the extra miles. We sat on the beach a while, before leaving, where it was very windy and very sunny. Now I have sand in my pockets and twigs in my hair and a hint of sunburn–a happy trio of souvenirs.

Ah, what a walk it was, it really was quite a walk!

How miraculous is Spring in Virginia!!! Especially when enjoyed by a sister-friend.

Beautiful photos, Rae. Is that a WHITE butterfly? Are they rare? I repeat: Beautiful!!!
That butterfly was the most beautiful periwinkle blue, when it flew. But when perched, with its wings folded together, it was almost invisible. The undersides of its wings were white, but only when viewed in profile. From above, it kind of reflected the colors around it. Really effective camouflage.
Oh-how beautiful! Thank you.
